The Penthouse is very private and allows even a single guest the pleasure of having the entire 1,500 square feet of luxury to oneself.

For your convenience, there is a kitchenette stocked with a microwave oven, small refrigerator, toaster oven and a coffee pot. Bottled water, coffee, tea, sugar and creamer are provided complementary during your stay. Food service can be purchased, at an additional rate, for gourmet breakfasts and dinners through The Commons Wine Bistro.

Instead of pricing being based on the number of guests, The Commons pricing is based on the number of rooms needed.

Reservation Information

Reservations can be made by calling the main telephone line at (252) 398-4052. After hour calls are forwarded to a cell phone so someone is always available to assist you. The Commons accepts Visa and Mastercard.

Special rates are available for Business Meetings, and Socials.

Room Description

The living/dinette room overlooks Main Street with a direct view of the historic Dr. Walter Reed house. There is a selection of video/DVDs, games, and books for your recreational pleasure.

The main bedroom consists of a queen sized bed, dresser with mirror, two night stands and a working desk with telephone line for internet access.

The adjoining bedroom includes twin beds, a side table and wardrobe with an iron and ironing board.

The bathroom, with claw-foot tub, is fully stocked with toiletries and a hand-held hair dryer for your personal use.

Check In & Out Times

Check-in is from 2:00 in the afternoon until 7:00 pm. Should you arrive earlier, please call as we might be able to get you in right away. Upon arriving at The Commons you will be given a key to the front door. All downstairs retail businesses close by 5:30 pm (see the shopping section for shop hours), so you can enjoy complete privacy.

Check-out is 11:00 am. Please leave the front door key on the table. Should you leave before the retail shops open please exit the front door and close it behind you. There is no need to lock the door. If you need additional time, please call the office at 252-398-4052.

Cancellations

Should your travel plans change, please contact The Commons as soon as possible. A twenty-four hour notice is preferred. No notification will result in a $50.00 charge to your credit card account.
